Welcome to a new academic year at Oxton St Saviour's Church of England Primary School. I felt extremely proud and privileged to be appointed as Head teacher in January. Joining us is this September, as our Deputy Head, is Miss Shaw. She has previously worked in a large school in Liverpool and will bring a wealth of experience to St Saviour's.
My previous appointment was as Head teacher of a rural Church of England school on the outskirts of Chester where I was there for eight years.
All of the staff in our school work extremely hard to provide a learning environment which is exciting, challenging and above all else - fun! Whilst the academic development of the children is a key priority within school the staff work hard to ensure that children’s spiritual, moral, emotional, social and personal developmental needs are also nurtured.
Our last OFSTED inspection and Church SIAMS inspection judged the school to be outstanding in both areas. This was an acknowledgement richly deserved by staff, Governors and children alike.
Our school is very closely linked to the local church -Oxton St Saviour’s and our Chair of Governors is Mr. G. Edwards. The school enjoys a very close relationship with the church and make regular visits there with all the children. Members of the clergy also visit the school twice a week to lead collective worship and to offer a caring ear to any child or member of staff who needs a quiet word.
You are most welcome to arrange a visit to experience the school for yourself. I will always endeavour to make myself available to answer any questions or discuss issues as they arise."
