I hope the first full week of home learning has gone well - thank you for your positive and encouraging emails about this set up. It is great to know the Year 5 home learning has been very clear and engaging for your children.
The home learning tasks for next week (w.b 18.01.21) are now available in the files to download section. Any problems or questions, I am only an email away at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please remember, don't feel too pressured to get through everything set for the week – do what you can and what works best for your family at home. I appreciate how hard it must be trying to juggle work and home learning. You are all doing a fantastic job.
It has been great to see the children’s hard work at home this week too and I have loved reading the poems after our work on The Listeners this week too.
I have sent an email out regarding next week's Google Meet with a scheduled date and time. The link will be sent to all who have given permission on Tuesday 19th January. I am very excited to catch up with all of the children at home.
Stay safe and look after each other.

Many thanks for your understanding and patience in what has been a very difficult week for us all. Certainly not one I had planned for!
I have attached the home learning tasks for W.B. 11th January. The 'Week 1 Home Learning - w.b 11.01.21' is an overview for the whole week which includes tasks for Reading, Writing, SPAG, Maths, Science and other Foundation subjects. The activities have been separated into specific days to help organise your week and hopefully makes finding and accessing lessons for your child as straightforward as possible. This should also help children who are coming into school for part of the week find the learning they need to complete on the days that they are at home. We will be covering and following the same lessons in school. I hope you will find the information provided useful.
I will still continue to set weekly tasks for all children to be completed at home on spag.com and Mathletics to support the children's learning.
Your home working situations will vary so please don't feel too overwhelmed by the challenge ahead or feel that another child in the class might be doing more or less than your child. You are doing an amazing job!
I would love to see your child’s work completed throughout the week, please email me on email@example.com to share their work.
We will also be in touch soon about arranging weekly Google Meets as a chance for the children to see their friends and teachers. I will be emailing the Google Meet protocols on Monday – please reply to that email by Friday 15th January with your agreement to follow them. I will only email the link if you have agreed to the protocols.
Any problems, please contact me through our class email firstname.lastname@example.org
Again, a big thank you from me. Thank you, also, for your lovely messages of support. We will get through this together and all will be well.
Take care, stay safe and be kind to yourselves,
