School trip to the local supermarket

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Reception - Horse Chestnut Class Year: 2022 - 2023

Reception took a trip to their local supermarket today. We were so well behaved, lots of members of the public commented on our behaviour and manners. 

We worked in small groups and had a checklist of things to find in the supermarket. It was really interesting to look at the different prices and types of cheese, bread etc. 

We then chose something interesting to buy to take back to school and share with the rest of the class. 

Miss Morton’s group chose cream cheese, carrots, tortilla chips and chocolate orange. 
Miss Burns’ group chose sour cream dip, pretzels and pomegranate seeds. 
Miss Milburn’s group chose cloudy lemonade and some different savory snacks. 

We shared these in a little buffet with the rest of our class!

We also stopped off at the local park on the way back to school as a little treat to enjoy the sunshine!
